On the evening of Friday, September 22, my Chief of Staff, James White, happened upon the Police Pipe Band giving an impromptu concert on Sparks Street in Ottawa. Under the precise direction of Drum Major Rob Duttchen, the Pipe Band quickly drew dozens of interested onlookers as they lined up. When the pipers and drummers began to play, the crowd quickly grew to close to 100. At the conclusion of the concert, it was clear the audience, who now filled the pedestrian street, would not soon forget either the police service or the city the Police Pipe Band so proudly represented.

Their performance was impressive as always and we would be remiss in not stating that our event would simply not be the same without them. They are definitely a crowd pleaser and an enhancement to any occasion and it is our privilege to be associated with them.
